Utah Mining Gazette newspaper advertisement, 1873
An 1873 newspaper advertisement from the Utah Mining Gazette. Like other national banks, a regular selling point was its capacity as a federal depository for the federal government. Instead of transporting assests long distance, national banks were obligated to store any federal resources within their vaults. The advertistment also notes First National as the oldest banking instituion in Utah.
